Over the past weeks, we have been doing serious work together.

We have talked about resilience. Not the cultural version that says “toughen up” or “push through,” but the deeper Christian kind. The kind that steadies the soul. The kind that allows a person to remain tender without becoming fragile.

Many of you have written to me about exhaustion. Not loss of faith. Not loss of conviction. But a quiet, bone-deep weariness from living in a world that is loud, reactive, and relentlessly urgent.

That weariness is real.

And it matters, because Lent is approaching.

Lent is not something we observe casually. It is not a religious aesthetic. It is the Church’s invitation to enter the desert with Christ. If we enter scattered and unsteady, we will experience it as deprivation. If we enter grounded, we will experience it as purification.

Resilience has not been the goal. It has been preparation.

This is where the deeper work begins.

This Wednesday, we step into Lent together. And I don’t want to rush that. Lent deserves more than a passing nod and a half-hearted resolution. So three times a week, I’ll be offering deeper reflections as my way of thanking those who have chosen to support this ministry financially. That support makes all of this possible, and these additional writings are the best thing I have to offer those who want serious formation during this season. I invite you to join us. Truly. The feedback from those who’ve participated has been deeply encouraging. Many have told me the added depth has steadied their prayer, clarified their thinking, and strengthened their spiritual lives in ways they didn’t expect. If you’re ready to go deeper this Lent, there’s a place for you. The cost is very small, less than a McDonald’s Meal per month, but the potential benefits are out of this world.
